There are songs that when you listen, you will hardly stop listening. You will begin to ask some salient questions about the composition and artistry contained in the song.
Today I met one of such Song. Ja Ni by Kespan featuring Spokesman is unequivocally my song of today to an unknown end perhaps. A typical African music, Ja Ni is a simple song of worship, a song that expresses the deep recesses of a longing heart. It's a song of dependence and surrender to God. The song has taken a dimension of faith in the saving power of God. Only Jesus Christ is the Saviour, and without him, we are headed to an oblivious dead end. The open confession of the power of Christ to save emphasis the mission of Christ in John 10:10 -11.
Also, Ja Ni also exposes the desire of every Christian to be drawn near to Christ, to be where Christ is - the kingdom of Heaven.
